Dr. Richmond Owusu is the owner and managing director of Glado Clinic Group with its first branch in Takoradi, Western Region. Born and raised in Kumasi in the Ashanti region which is the second largest city in Ghana and attended Opoku Ware School which is one of Ghana’s most prestigious high schools where he read science with Biology concentration.
Dr. Owusu relocated to the United States after high school and gained admission to William Paterson University of New Jersey where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. His love for Dentistry emerged whiles an undergraduate at William Paterson University. Some of his main motives of picking dentistry as a branch of medicine for his profession, was to further create more awareness in his home country since that field of medicine was lacking in different levels. In addition, to restore smiles and self-confidence in people, especially in underprivileged areas.
He gained admission to Howard University College of Dentistry which is one of America’s historically prestigious black Colleges and graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. He then took a residency program at Montefiore Medical Center which is affiliated with Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University in Bronx, New York, where he learned advanced dental techniques, research, patient-care and teaching in general practice dentistry.
Dr. Owusu is a detailed-oriented person, easy to talk to, trustworthy, comfortable with close personal interaction, artistic, leader, excited about the profession of dentistry, passionate about providing care to those in need, good communicator, caring and concerned about how the patient feels during procedures, great listener and above all always getting to know each patient.
With ten (10) years experience, Dr. Owusu continues to seek for excellence in every aspect of general dentistry as a means to bring the latest information and technology to the practice group. His overall mission is to provide exceptional, comprehensive dental care to patients in a friendly and caring environment, educating and encouraging them towards a state of optimal oral health.
When he’s off from managing the office, Dr. Owusu loves to spend time with his wife and two kids. He also enjoys watching sports, movies, listening to music, working out and traveling. He’s a great dancer and loves to sing.
